Apple To Host Event On October The 14th
I received word from a my source that Apple will be having a press event at their campus at 10:00 AM Pacific Time. Press only. This should be interesting... Not only that thou, my source had hinted an iMac speed bump as well. There have been rumors of new MacBooks and MacBook Pros floating around and I can say that this is indeed true. But neither the less. Get your wallet ready. Something big is coming.

New Viddler Account!
Down with youtube! All these silly companies taking down videos because of just a mention of a company. It sickens me. Until YouTube sorts this out, I have a new account right here. I actually love Viddler. The site is gorgeous and the interface is simple to navigate around to. Sorry, google but please try to improve on youtube. It's getting out of control!

The Disassembly of an iBook G3
I've had my iBook G3 for over a year now and I can tell you it was very good for it's time. But then as time goes on, it gets out dated. So I've decided to disassemble my iBook G3. Was there a purpose? No, not really. It was just to have fun. Apple put so many different screws in that thing, it's a forest of wires. But really I can't say much because I have taken apart a Dell Dimension and that was held together by chewing gum! (not kidding!). Back on topic now, iBook have a very interesting display. It has a cellphone type hinge where it closes without a latch, yet it stays closed. Taking the iBook G3 apart was pretty hard... but putting it back together was easy. ;) You just had to remember what kind of screws going what hole, where the wires went to, where all the components went to. For example the modem, ram, sound, keyboard, trackpad, and the airport wireless card would all have to be put back in the original spot. It's a monster but it was a lot of fun overall. Try it with your old Mac laptop sometime. It's great.
Compaq Presario 4000

So I found this little computer sitting in a storage shed. I figured I'd collect these old beige computers no one wants anymore. However this computer is not as old as some others. It was made in 2000 and ran Windows ME (Millennium Editon, yet I call it Mistake Edition). It didn't work when I initially powered it on... because the ram was not all the way inserted! Only after bashing the SDRAM with a screw driver, THEN it booted. Good as new I thought. But then as soon as it did power on, the cd drive showed a red light meaning it wasn't good anymore. This was nothing but a dud but at the same time, that's why I use a Mac.

My Stance on iPhone 3G

The iPhone 3G was announced at WWDC 2008 this year in June and was released on July the 11th internationally. I have an iPhone 2G yet I had no intention on ever getting a 3G. I felt as though that the classic saying stands true "Nothing beats the original". True it does have faster data, but until that data actually is everywhere in Mississippi, I'm not getting one but maybe I will with the next generation. Who knows what Apple will reveal. Its Apple. You can't predict what they are going to reveal to the public.

How To Create Your Own Multitouch Trackpad for under $20
(all credit goes to Seth Sandler for this concept)
Okay so you want to make your own $20 track pad.
You will need:
A cardboard box (Any size will do. The bigger the box the bigger the trackpad.), a piece of glass (acrylic, plexiglass, just as long as it's see through), a web cam, and a piece of paper.
How to make it:
Take the box and cut a hole in the side to where the camera cord will go. Insert the usb cord through the box to the outside of the box leaving the camera inside the box. Mount the camera face up directly in the center of the box with some tape. Put the glass on top of the box, and then the paper to cover up the glass. The camera detects the shadow your fingers make when you touch the paper. Download the software you need here. Follow the guide included and you will be set. Enjoy you're multitouch trackpad.

iPhone 2.0 Software
With the new iPhone 2.0 software coming in less than a week away on July the 11th, I'm real excited about all the new features. Sure I love the new enterprise features in 2.0, but that's not the real reason I'm so excited. It's all because of the App Store. This is Apple's way of letting 3rd party developers get into the iPhone's main OS and really take advantage of the ground features. This compared to web apps just blows the web apps out of the water. Period. I can't wait for July 11th.

A Backstory of How I Got My iPhone
I always have dreamed for an iPhone ever since it first came out. I did once have one on the very first day but I was unable to complete my obligation with my parents to dish out the money. I could either sell it or take it back to AT&T. I sold it on eBay only to have a fraudulent buyer to try and steal it from me without me even knowing it. So when that failed I had to do the other option which was to take it back to AT&T. So, when Steve announced the iPod touch, I purchased it as a substitute to chew on until I got an iPhone. As soon as the 16 GB iPhone came out however, I made the swoop to the iPhone. I sold the iPod touch on eBay and added the selling earnings and the money I had saved and bought the iPhone. It's quite a long story for such a tiny device and I summarized it as much as I could.

I'm A Mac

Having tried Linux, Windows, and OS X, I can tell you that Mac OS X is the best way to go. Hands down. I love my shimmering iMac with the comfortable aluminum keyboard and wireless mouse. Nuts to, linux and windows. Linux especially because their users think they are so better than Mac users. It's not simply not true.

iPhone SDK Event Announced
It seems developers have been given a secret invitation from Apple concerning the SDK event to be held on the 6th of March. Though not much is known, I suspect the software update from yesterday was the first step to Apple's SDK roadmap. Hope Apple won't restrict the developer's imagination.

iPhone Wish List

With SDK arriving soon within 3 days, I will make a wish list of all the features I hope the developers or apple will add to the iPhone:
1)Flash support for Safari (everyone agrees)
2)The camera application now takes videos with audio (Oh boy how useful that would be!)
3)MMS (every other phone has it.. why not the iPhone? Why not the top class phone? Speak up, Apple!
4)Developers, make top notch games for the iPhone and try to take advantage of it's multi-touch capabilities!

iPod Touch 1.1.3 Jailbreak
Sorry, guys. I haven't updated since.. well.. forever really. I've been busy over at a forum called,"iPod Touch Fans". I've really been into the jailbreaking of the touch over in that area. They say eventually the guys at Touch Dev well release it, but they cannot decide if they should release it now or wait until February for the release of the SDK. Anyway, thanks and I will keep you updated for now on. :)
